 Lis McLoughlin holds a BS in Civil Engineering, an MEd in Education, and a PhD in Science and Technology Studies. Her published works include academic articles in Community Archaeology and Heritage, Religions, Journal of Engineering Education, and Engineering Studies; poems in Stonewalls II, and Tributaries; personal essays in The Ecological Citizen, and Community Archaeology and Heritage, a stage performance in Confabulations; and book chapters in Re-Enchanting the Academy and Engineering Social Justice. Her current work is focused on how writing and activism connect people to the rest of Nature, of which we are a part. Lis directs the Writing the Land project, publishes anthologies for Writing the Land as well as occasional other books, and produces the annual online Authors and Artists festival as well as various poetry readings, book launches, workshops on writing with the land, and other online events. She lives off-grid in Northfield, Massachusetts and in Montréal, Québec.
