You’d like to do it yourself—-publish your own book. But the learning curve is daunting. Our subscription service is here to support you. A real person, who has published 30 books, to answer your questions, give advice, and separately, for hire for the hard parts. Join by the month for only the time you need, and retain control over your project every step of the way.

What We Offer: Included in basic monthly subscription $49/month

  • A quick-start guide, 1 page of the basics to get you started on the right path

  • Weekly group office hours: ask your questions live online

  • Flexible Monthly subscription with no minimum/max: sign up or drop at any time

  • Experience with IngramSpark, LuLu, Indesign, Photoshop; Layout and Cover Design; obtaining an ISBN

  • Referrals to trusted experts in various publishing and publishing-adjacent fields

Optional help: add-ons, can also be purchased separately:

  • Simple Squarespace Author Websites ($250)

  • One on one private information sessions ($100 per 1 hour)

  • Video creation through our associate organizations (costs vary)

  • Indesign layout (costs vary)

  • Cover drafts (costs vary)

What We Don’t Offer:

  • Anything to do with Amazon (we support bookshop.org and other independent organizations)

  • Marketing or social media expertise (beyond a few basics)

  • Copyright expertise

About your host: Lis McLoughlin, PhD

Lis McLoughlin is the founder and director of NatureCulture® www.nature-culture.net, a publishing company incorporated in Massachusetts in 2020 with a branch in Montréal, Québec (2025) through which she directs the Writing the Land® Project www.writingtheland.org, paring poets with conserved lands, and creating anthologies sold for land conservation. As of 2026, Lis works with over 450 poets and 150 land conservation organizations, mostly in the USA, and has published 16 Writing the Land anthologies and 14 other books about Nature. She works at the intersection of arts, environment, and social justice, and holds international in-person retreats for environmental writers in the Cayman Islands, Ireland, and Canada. Lis has degrees in Civil Engineering, Education, and Science and Technology Studies. She lives off-grid in Northfield, Massachusetts and part-time in Montréal, Québec.
